Dr. Rangan Chatterjee joins me on the podcast, jumping right into a very honest and passionate conversation from the start.

He believes that everyone has the ability to feel better. The solution isn’t always in a pill. It’s a lifestyle prescription. And, he’s taking a stand: people are needlessly suffering and this is preventable and unacceptable. After many years of seeing patients, he has come to the realisation that all of us can feel much better than we currently do and good health is accessible to every single one of us.

As the star of the BBC One series, Doctor In The House, a family invites him into their home to investigate every aspect of their lives in hopes that he can give them a plan to live a happy and healthy life. Imagine that as a service of the NHS!

He’s written four books and his latest, Feel Great Lose Weight, offers a simple five-step plan to feel better, sleep well and move more. I read every single word of this book and loved it. This book has so much power and richness in it. And it’s about so much more than losing weight.

You can hear the compassion in his voice throughout this episode. He was so open and honest and generous. I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

In this episode we get into:

  • Rangan's incredibly honest experience of 2020

  • Generational imprinting

  • Obesity and adverse childhood experiences

  • I challenge him on why he wrote a book on weight loss

  • How Covid can bring us a greater awareness of ourselves

We used to eat to fill a hole in our stomachs, now we eat to fill a hole in our hearts.
